A joint operation by the Delhi Police Special Cell, Jharkhand Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and Ranchi Police has led to the arrest of three suspected ISIS terrorists in Delhi and Ranchi. This operation is part of an ongoing effort to dismantle terrorist networks in the country
- Azhar Danish:Arrested from Islamnagar area of Ranchi, Jharkhand, Danish was wanted in a case registered in Delhi. He is currently being questioned by the Delhi Police.
- Prabhat Kumar Chaurasiya: Apprehended in Delhi, Chaurasiya allegedly procured SIM cards using his Aadhaar credentials and sent them to Nepal. These SIM cards were then used by ISI operatives in Pakistan for espionage and anti-India activities.
- Aftab: Arrested in South Delhi, Aftab’s role in the ISIS module is currently under investigation
During the raids, the police recovered several items, including:
- Weapons: Firearms and chemicals suspected to be used for making explosives were seized.
- Electronic Devices: Laptops, mobile phones, and other electronic components were recovered for forensic examination.
- Sodium Bicarbonate: Used for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs), this substance was found during the raid
The operation began with specific intelligence received on August 28 about an individual associated with ISI handlers being present in Vijay Block, Laxmi Nagar. Acting swiftly, the team apprehended the suspect and subsequently conducted raids at multiple locations, including a hostel in Ranchi. More than eight suspects have been detained and are being questioned
The Delhi Police and Jharkhand ATS are working together to uncover the larger terror network and identify potential handlers. The investigation is ongoing, with further arrests expected
The successful operation against the ISIS module highlights the effectiveness of inter-agency coordination and intelligence sharing. As the investigation continues, further revelations about the terror network and its activities are expected, helping to strengthen national security.
