On 15 July 2025, St. Stephen’s College and St. Thomas School in Delhi received bomb threat emails, triggering panic and a swift emergency response. Both institutions were immediately evacuated, ensuring the safety of students and staff.
Following the alerts, the Delhi Police deployed the Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog Squad, and the Fire Department to both sites. A full-scale search operation was conducted; however, no suspicious objects were found in either location. Specifically, St. Stephen’s College received an email claiming that a bomb had been planted in the college library, prompting focused inspections in that area.
This is not an isolated incident. According to reports, bomb threats have been recurring across Delhi schools and colleges. Just a day earlier, on 14 July 2025, at least three schools, including Navy Children School in Chanakyapuri, CRPF Public School in Prashant Vihar, and another in Dwarka, received similar email threats.
In a concerning trend, over 200 schools in the Delhi-NCR region had received bomb threat emails in May 2025, indicating a pattern that authorities are now actively investigating.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka), Ankit Singh, stated, “Early on Monday morning, Dwarka North police station received a PCR call informing about a bomb threat at CRPF School here. The area was promptly sanitised. Local police, sniffer dogs, and bomb disposal squads reached the school and conducted checks.” He further mentioned that cyber police experts are working to trace the source of the email.
Investigation and Security Measures
The Delhi Police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the origin of the threatening emails. Cybercrime experts are closely monitoring the situation and analyzing email trails to identify the perpetrators.
As of now, no explosive devices have been found, and all students and staff are reported safe. Authorities have urged the public to stay calm yet alert, as the investigation continues.
To prevent panic and enhance preparedness, vigilance has been increased around schools and colleges across the capital. Police and emergency services remain on high alert.
The motive and identity of those behind these threats remain unknown, but law enforcement is determined to bring the culprits to justice and ensure the safety of all educational institutions.
