Mahagathbandhan Holds Strategy Meet Ahead of Bihar Polls

Patna, Bihar The Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) in Bihar has begun its full-fledged preparations for the upcoming assembly elections. A high-level coordination committee meeting was held at the official residence of Leader of the Opposition and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Polo Road. The crucial five-hour-long strategy session saw the participation of leaders from all alliance partners, including the Congress, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), CPI(ML), CPI, and CPM.

Key Focus: Seat Sharing and Voter List Integrity

Chaired by Tejashwi Yadav, the meeting focused on critical election strategies, with seat-sharing emerging as a primary topic. Speaking to the media after the meeting, VIP chief Mukesh Sahani revealed that all alliance partners had already submitted their seat demands ahead of the session. Discussions were held to finalize the allocation soon in a manner satisfactory to all partners.

Sahani also emphasized the importance of the voter list revision campaign, noting widespread concerns about the removal of legitimate voters from electoral rolls. Allegations surfaced during the meeting regarding Booth Level Officers (BLOs) not performing their duties adequately, leading to questions about the functioning of the Election Commission. The alliance resolved to address these challenges by reaching out at the booth level to safeguard voter rights.

Common Manifesto and Alliance Expansion

Another important aspect of the meeting was the formulation of a common manifesto. Leaders deliberated on drafting a shared vision that reflects the priorities and promises of all parties within the alliance. The joint manifesto is expected to be a cornerstone of the Mahagathbandhan’s campaign against the ruling NDA.

The topic of alliance expansion also featured in the discussion. When asked about the potential inclusion of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), Sahani stated that talks are ongoing, and clarity will emerge in due course.

A United Front with Clear Leadership

Dismissing rumors of internal differences, alliance leaders affirmed their unity and readiness to contest the elections with a common goal—removing the NDA from power. There is also no ambiguity about the leadership face, with Tejashwi Yadav expected to spearhead the campaign as the undisputed leader of the Mahagathbandhan.

With the assembly elections approaching, the Grand Alliance appears determined and united, laying a solid groundwork to challenge the NDA’s dominance in Bihar.
